EuroVelo - A 38,000 mile network of 12 routes across Europe (one-third complete in 2004) to encourage people to choose cycling for more trips. And each small trip to school, work, shops or for leisure holds out the enchanting notion to the cyclist of riding on -- on to Moscow, to Athens, to Santiago de Compostela!

National Byway - Britain's Heritage Cycling Route
- A 4,000-mile cycling route on many of Britain's most scenic and lightly-traveled
rural lanes, signed and mapped for cyclists, with more than 1,000 places
of interest and historic sites along the way. More than 3,000 Byway
miles are operational as of 2004.
